Cookies And Storage

AcrossWord uses browser storage, including localStorage and authentication tokens, to make the game work. Some storage is necessary. Analytics storage is optional.

Necessary Storage

• Sign-in session tokens, so registered players can stay signed in.
• Theme preference, so light or dark mode remains selected.
• Game progress, completed-puzzle state, selected Classic mode, and replay lockout state.
• Cookie preference, so we remember whether you allowed analytics.

Analytics Storage

If you allow analytics, AcrossWord stores an anonymous device identifier and event markers so puzzle starts are not counted repeatedly after refreshes. We also send gameplay events with device, browser, operating system, time zone, and puzzle context.

Feedback Screenshots

If you attach a screenshot to feedback, that image is submitted with your feedback report. This is optional and separate from analytics consent.
