Terms Of Use
These terms explain the basic rules for using AcrossWord. If you use the site, create an account, submit feedback, or submit a puzzle, you agree to use the service fairly and lawfully.
Using The Site
- Do not misuse the site, attack the service, scrape it heavily, or try to access admin-only features.
- Do not submit unlawful, offensive, misleading, copied, or harmful content.
- We may change, pause, or remove features while the site is being developed.
Accounts
You are responsible for activity on your account and should keep your sign-in details secure. We may restrict or remove access if an account is misused.
Puzzle Submissions
- You must own the puzzle content you submit or have permission to submit it.
- By submitting a puzzle, you give AcrossWord a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to review, edit, publish, display, archive, and promote that puzzle as part of AcrossWord.
- Submission does not guarantee publication, payment, or Contributor of the Day credit.
- We may edit clues, difficulty, wording, metadata, or scheduling before publication.
- We may reject or remove submissions that are unsuitable, copied, offensive, too similar to existing puzzles, or technically invalid.
Subscriptions
AcrossWord offers optional paid subscriptions for subscriber features such as the full Classic archive, Junior and subscriber-only extras, and puzzle submission tools. The current prices shown on the subscription page are $2 per month or $12 per year.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the next renewal date.
- Payments, tax, invoices, renewals, and checkout are handled by Paddle as merchant of record.
- You can cancel a subscription before renewal. Cancellation stops future renewals but does not normally refund time already paid for.
- Refund handling is described in the Refund Policy.
Intellectual Property
AcrossWord, the site design, puzzle format, software, branding, and published puzzle collection belong to AcrossWord or its contributors. You may play the puzzles for personal use, but you must not copy or republish the site or puzzle database without permission.
Liability
AcrossWord is provided as a puzzle game and development-stage service. We try to keep it available and accurate, but we cannot promise it will always be error-free or uninterrupted.
